Not a plastic in flour; Due to gluten protein, it pulls like a plastic.

News on social media allegations of mixing plastic in flour.
ITC said - Government rule is at least 6% gluten.

8-10% gluten in a good quality flour

  • Good quality flour contains gluten 8 to 10 percent.
  • On the addition of water, it makes flour balls because of gluten.
  • Plastic Rs 100 per kg, so the point of mixing it in the flour is absurd.

There is a news related to flour on social media and some websites these days. Some videos show that the dough starts pulling like a plastic after interrupting it. They are being accused of mixing plastic in flour. After customers complained, raids were also carried out at several places including Delhi and the dough samples were taken for investigation. Those brands about which people are complaining about are the blessings and power chief.
Experts and companies have described these decisions as baseless. Hemant Malik, head of ITC's Food Business, handing the blessing brand of flour, said that wheat has a protein named Gluten naturally. Food Regulator FSSAI rule should be at least 6% gluten in the flour. A December Lab report of Microcham Silicer reports that the blessings are 10.4% in flour, 9% in Pillsbury, 9% in Silvill cone and 10% gluten in Patanjali brand flour.
J.P. Tondon former Director of Indian Food and Agriculture Research Institute has also said these reports wrong. He said that due to gluten, the dough is made of water, which we make the bread by the bell. The good quality is 8-10% gluten. He even told that if gluten is not made in flour, then it means that the wheat is bad, it is bad. Hemant said that complaints have been lodged against Bangladeshi and Hyderabad against such video content on social media. He said that the issue of mixing plastic in the flour is also absurd because the flour is sold at 25-30 rupees and the cost of plastic is more than Rs. 100 per kg.
