Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Admission Rules, 2018
In order to benefit private medical colleges, admission rules were changed.
Controversy about changing the definition of NRI candidate in admission rules for admission to UG and PG seats of private medical and dental colleges NRI quota has begun. Knowledgeable of the Counseling Rules and the Whistleblower of Vyapma case Doctor Anand Roy will apply the petition to challenge the admission rules in the High Court. The officers of Directorate of Medical Education is claiming to modify the definition of NRI candidate as per rules, in the rules of entry. Anand Roy, a whistleblower of the Vypam case, told that in the private medical and dental colleges, for the admission in NRI quota seats, the same students are considered eligible, which are the real NRIs. Apart from this, the provision of enrollment in private medical colleges under the quota is given to candidates who fulfill the definitions of NRI in the Income Tax. On the basis of these rules, the Director Medical Education had canceled the admission of 107 candidates who took admission in NRI seats in private medical colleges in the academic session 2017-18 and examined the High Court directive. This caused significant losses to private medical and dental college operators. To save private college operators from this loss, the officers of the Medical Education Department have now changed the definition of NRI candidate by amending the UG and PG admission rules. With this, the college operators in NRI seats in private medical and dental colleges will be able to enroll inefficiently inpatient students. The state government has amended the admission rules for this, which will soon petition the High Court for amendment.
