Additional District and Session Judge Rajesh Kumar's court sentenced 10 years of imprisonment to the director of handing over a drug to Nalagarh District Solan (Himachal Pradesh) in the case of making substandard medicines.
3 lakh rupees have been imposed beyond that Chemist of Kotakpura, who has sold the drug, has been acquitted. The Drug Department had lodged the complaint with the court under the Drug and Cosmetic Act. According to the complaint, on May 17, 2010, drug inspector of Faridkot Lakhwant Singh had raided the Static Rana drug house near Vishwakarma Dharamshala in Kotakpura. During the procession, the drugs were examined in the shop. Irregularities were found in some medicines of the Megawro Health Care drug company, Himachal.
